Taro Hattori’s conceptual installations respond directly to both the built and intangible elements of a specific environment. With

a background in theater set design, Hattori creates installations telling stories that are activated by the presence of viewers.

In his most recent work, Hattori explores the relationship between creation and destruction, finding connections between seemingly

disparate motifs, dirigibles, weapons and family history to interrogate the violence inherent in any symbol or system of power.
During his residency at Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts, Hattori focuses on a installation project which explores the sense of violence

historically embedded in our everyday city life, setting three vantage points of project as "space" "bamboo" and "collaboration"

inviting other artists in its process.

On the Open studio event and the talk,Hattori and his Polish collaborator Aleksandra Janik will present their working on prograss plan on several aspects
from the observation toward Taiwanese culture.

Through their various disciplines from the research, they will provide a wide perspectives to the audience regarding the images they have recieved during their residency.
