About Workshop
This workshop problematizes, from autotheory, why we prefer the original and authentic to the copy. A conceptual analysis will be offered, as well as examples of some artists who have been inclined to work from copying and imitation. Finally, a collective manifesto will be made along with the participants: Imitations: A practical manifesto.

About Artist
Sandra Sánchez is an art critic, editor of Onda Mx, professor at the University of the Cloister of Sor Juana and director of Aeromoto Library. Her research focuses on collaborative forms of writing on contemporary art.

Este taller problematiza, desde la autoteoría, por qué preferimos lo original y auténtico a la copia. Se ofrecerá un análisis conceptual, así como ejemplos de algunos artistas que se han inclinado a trabajar desde la copia y la imitación. Finalmente, se realizará, junto con los participantes, un manifiesto colectivo: Imitaciones: un manifiesto práctico.

Sandra Sánchez es crítica de arte, editora de Onda Mx, profesora en la Universidad del Claustro de Sor Juana y directora de Aeromoto Biblioteca. Su investigación se centra en las formas colaborativas de escritura sobre arte contemporáneo.
