【Introduction】

Voyage, Voyage

The artist travels. This period of transit, research, training and also pleasure has become essential in the life of the contemporary artist. The roots of this "working time" are ancient: in Europe as early as the 16th century, many painters and sculptors realized what was later called the Grand Tour. At the same time, in Asia, travel is also part of the artist's training. The notion of landscape is particularly important, and the artist moves away to reproduce them as 36 views of Mount Fuji by Hokusai or 8 Views of Xiaoxiang by Wang Hong. For the contemporary artist, the journey can be clearly claimed as a moment of intense activity and production. Work is not confined to the material and demiurge action so sacred. This presentation will aim to present different aspects of the artist's work intimately linked to the notion of travel.
