Organized by the Kaundu Museum of Fine Arts, and co-organized by Soka Art, Mao Xuhui's personal exhibition, "Mao Xuhui: I'm Here" will be hosting its "Self-Governance Through Images During an Era of Change-Mao Xuhui's Art Conference". For the conference, we have invited Zhang Songren, Director of Hanaart TZ Gallery, and holder of the title of the Father of Contemporary Art in China, art history critics Wang Lin and Gao Minglu, curators Zhang Guanghua, Hu Yongfen, and three other prominent scholars. Looking back on the "Mao Xuhui: I'm Here" exhibition, as a leader in China's first Contemporary Art Movement and the '85 New Wave, artist Mao Xuhui's stories, his works, and even his life, can all be said to living records of contemporary art history. Feng Boyi, the curator also characterized Mao by dividing the exhibition into three sections with the themes of "Conditions of Life", "Interrelated Homeland", and "Prop Allegory". Using time as the basis of the script, the exhibition re-examines the artist's personal creations, as well as the relationship of his works with the occurrence of the '85 New Wave Movement in China.
One of the recently most awaited art exhibitions in Taiwan titled "Mao Xuhui: I'm Here", has already had its grand opening on July 21st at the Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts in Taipei! The exhibition has generated a large amount of discussion at all levels. Aside from collectors and the general public, experts in the art world and the media have all given their praise to the exhibition! The hype surrounding the "Mao Xuhui: I'm Here" exhibition is like the heat during the summer, it just keeps getting hotter and hotter! The August edition of Chinese Contemporary Art News Magazine (CANS), featured an in-depth interview with Feng Boyi, the curator for the exhibition. In the following month, the Art Investment Magazine further featured an interview of Mao Xuhui by the magazine's chief editor, Wei Linya, on the subject of "We reap what we sow - Mao Xuhui's life lessons", as well as a special segment on the exhibition.
