Kota Takeuchi’s practice explores themes of historical ruins, war, and trauma. His work spans a wide range of media and forms—from performance and investigative interviews to spatial and video installations. He first came to prominence with Finger Pointing Worker (2011), a video in which he pointed at a surveillance camera at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant for nearly 20 minutes as an act of protest. In recent years, through monuments, archives, and field research, Takeuchi has developed a series of works examining how war, disaster, and the entanglement of media reshape individual perception.

His works have been exhibited at the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale (2024), the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo (2023), Mori Art Museum (2022), and the Museo del Novecento in Milan (2022). His works are included in the collections of the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo and the Fondation d’entreprise Hermès, Paris.
