Minjee Kim was born in South Korea in 1992 and studied art theory at the Chonnam National University in Gwangju. Her master's thesis was a research on the diaspora tendency in the art of Pen Varlen (Russian: Пен Варлен). She also worked as an intern curator for 3 years in Mudeung Museum of Contemporary Art in Gwangju, Museum of Korean Beauty in Gwangju, Chonnam National University Museum, and Uijae Museum of Korean Art. Through this experience, she is expected to receive a curator certification granted by the National Museum of Korea. She also participated in the International Media Performance Arts Festival in Gwangju, and an international performance for a special exhibition at the 20th anniversary of the Gwangju Biennale.
