Born in Australia, Mark Themann became a nomadic artist, moving repeatedly between Australia, Europe and the USA, for a number of decades. His spatial/sculptural practice embraces any materials and media. From objects found in everyday life to video, from ephemera and contextual elements, he presents installations, performances, printmaking, drawing, photography, artist books
and collaborative projects. A recipient of 25 international grants and awards, including an award winning PhD from Monash University Melbourne, Dr. Themann is currently the director of Latrobe Regional Gallery (LRG), a public museum close to Melbourne and continues his own art practice. At Kuandu Fine Arts Museum he will present a new installation, developed from material found in Taipei, research new exhibition sites and seeks to engage with artists from Taiwan.
